THIS ARE THE NEW LUXURY BAGS ‘MADE IN SPAIN’
MIUUR, luxury bags that are actually affordable
The brand led by the architect Ignacio Cristofori and the fashion specialist Tamara Maestro has managed to make luxury manufacturing excesses its differentiating point.
In traditional luxury, limited access for a privileged few was conceived as part of the mystery that not only enveloped it, but which was the backbone of it. However, the evolution of the industry and the new demands of the public have meant that what worked has to be renewed and that now luxury is understood in a different way. More open, more flexible, more accessible, even. What it does not give up is the imperative of high quality in raw materials and design. And those are just some of the maxims that MIUUR follows, a new brand that has managed to reinvent the concept of luxury bags through sustainability, limited editions and designs for all genres.

INTERVIEW
Miuur, the new luxury handbag firm that advocates the ‘zero waste’ philosophy
The designs of this Spanish brand, founded just a year ago by the Argentine Ignacio Cristofori and the Spanish Tamara Maestro, are produced from hides recovered from excess production in the luxury industry, in a clear commitment to sustainability, but also for quality materials.
This new brand of bags, made entirely in Spain, offers a perfectly executed product with leathers that come from excess production in the luxury industry. Good, beautiful and affordable designs for a new type of clientele who are looking for quality by highlighting craftsmanship. “We believe that in this dialogue between those who design and those who shape the finished product, there lies the true value of the pieces. As one of our artisans says “leather goods are not an exact science”; that inaccuracy is for us a fundamental characteristic, which makes each piece unique ”.

INTERVIEW
Luxury can be sustainable: the Spanish couple who make bags with surplus from other brands
MIUUR is a luxury handbag firm based on limited editions. Affordable and designed for all genders, their products bring sustainability to this industry.
Fashion specialist Tamara Maestro and architect Ignacio Cristofori have been walking together since 2012. Fashion was a point of union for them when, in 2016, they began working on an idea that combines two key elements: sustainability and quality. That’s the motto of MIUUR, a luxury handbag firm that uses the surplus of other brands in that industry to make brilliant but affordable pieces.

FROM THE TRIUMPH OF THE ‘UPCYCLING’ TO THE NEW SPANISH BRANDS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Bags that never go out of style
A new firm born in 2020 will captivate lovers of quality bags, created to survive the passing of trends. Miuur is the label founded by architect and designer Ignacio Cristofori and fashion specialist Tamara Maestro. Conceived as a fine leather goods firm, the designs are made in Spain, betting on limited edition collections and mixing contemporary aesthetics with traditional crafts. As they explain from the brand, a large part of the materials used in the manufacture of their proposals come from surpluses from the luxury industry. To avoid overproduction, Miuur is betting for some models on a business strategy that is increasingly present in independent firms, the pre-order. A system that allows the customer to buy at a discount products that will be delivered within a period of several weeks, so that they can have a rough idea of the number of pieces that must be made of each design.

MIUUR
Seven brands of bags ‘made in Spain’ that we find in El Corte Inglés and they are a very good investment
Born in 2020, this firm combines touches of Asian culture with clearly Spanish concepts and designs, with Mediterranean influence. With Ignacio Cristofori and Tamara Maestro at front, Miuur seeks that his pieces reflect “artistic intuition and nostalgia for cultural roots to give life to careful collections that transcend trends”.
Their bags, they say, combine “contemporary design and traditional Spanish crafts to create unique pieces from noble materials.” Resulting in delicate pieces to wear on special occasions or in our day to day.
